Privacy Policy RibatApp B.V.

RibatApp B.V. respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains which personal data we process in the RibatApp mobile app, why we process it, and how we protect it.

Personal Data We Process

We only process data that is needed to provide the app and keep it safe. Depending on how you use the app, we may process:

• email address

• username

• display name and, if you provide it, full name

• date of birth

• gender

• profile photo and profile bio

• posts, comments, messages, favorites, follows, reports, and other content you choose to submit

• technical session data needed to keep you signed in securely

• device-level notification permission and related notification delivery data

• location data when you use features such as prayer times, Qibla, or mosque finder

• moderation and safety data, such as upload checks, abuse reports, and security events

We do not intentionally collect bank details, payment card data, order history, home address details, or advertising identifiers through the mobile app.

Why We Use Your Data

We process personal data to:

• create and maintain your account

• let you use social features such as posts, comments, messages, follows, and favorites

• deliver app features that depend on your profile, such as age-based and gender-based safety rules

• show location-based features when you request them

• send essential service messages and notifications

• detect abuse, secure the app, moderate content, and investigate reports

• comply with legal obligations and handle legitimate user requests

Special and Sensitive Data

Date of birth and gender can be sensitive. We process them only because they are used for account eligibility, safety rules, and feature access inside the app.

RibatApp is intended for users aged 16 and over. If we learn that data was provided in violation of this rule, we may remove the account or delete the data.

Location Data

The app asks for location access only when you use features that need it, such as prayer times, Qibla, or mosque finder. We do not claim to continuously track your location in the background through the mobile app.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep account and profile data for as long as your account is active. Content you submit may remain available until you delete it, it is removed for safety reasons, or retention is required by law.

If you deactivate your account, the app may keep deactivation and scheduled deletion data for a limited period so your account can be restored or permanently removed according to the app flow.

How We Protect Data

We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:

• authenticated access controls

• row-level and server-side access restrictions where supported

• encrypted transport over HTTPS

• upload validation and content moderation controls

• limited operational access to production systems

No security measure is perfect, but we work to reduce misuse, unauthorized access, and data loss.

Sharing Data With Third Parties

We do not sell personal data. To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the app, RibatApp may use selected third-party service providers acting on our behalf and, where required by applicable law, under contractual arrangements. These providers may process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide their services to us.

Examples of categories of providers include: cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, authentication and database providers, storage and content delivery providers, notification and communication providers, and safety, moderation, and content processing providers.

RibatApp currently uses Google Cloud services, including Vertex AI Vision, to support certain AI-enabled functionality, content analysis, image and video review, moderation support, safety measures, and related processing where applicable.

RibatApp also uses Supabase to support application infrastructure, authentication, storage, and database operations.

Where users upload images, videos, profile content, or other media, those materials may be processed using automated systems, including AI assisted analysis. This may include generating limited derived visual representations from uploaded videos where necessary to evaluate content, support moderation, detect policy violations, maintain platform safety, or provide requested functionality.

Where service providers process personal data on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to require appropriate security measures and data protection obligations. Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are applied in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The mobile app does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, social media pixels, IDFA, or GAID for personalized advertising.

If you use RibatApp on the web, the website or its infrastructure may use strictly necessary cookies or similar storage needed for login, security, and basic operation. We do not describe those technologies as analytics or advertising tools in this policy unless they are actually enabled.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability for your personal data. You can also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Account and Data Deletion

Users can request the deletion of their account at any time by going to Settings > Deactivate Account in the RibatApp. Once the deletion request has been submitted through the app, the account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted after a retention period of 30 days.

Users may contact us, see below contact details, regarding their deletion request only after they have first submitted an account deletion request through the app. Certain information may be retained only if required by law or for legitimate security, fraud prevention, or regulatory purposes during the retention period.

Managing and Deleting Specific Data

Users do not need to delete their account to manage their personal information. Through My Profile, users can update, edit, or remove their profile information, posts, and other content at any time.

Automated Decision-Making

We may use automated tools, including AI supported systems, to assist with moderation, content review, abuse detection, feature functionality, and service quality. These tools are intended to support operational decisions and user experience. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, RibatApp does not make solely automated decisions that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects on users without appropriate human involvement or review where required by applicable law.

Complaints

If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you may contact us first. We will do our best to help solve your complaints and/or questions as soon as possible. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens):
